Install Cosmix and Turn On Notifications

Cosmix runs in your web browser at app.cosmixapp.app. Install it and it gets its own icon on your home screen or desktop and opens in its own window, just like any other app.

Once Cosmix is installed, turn on notifications and you will hear about:

  • Matches: new matches arriving in your Universe, someone who wants to connect, and every mutual match.
  • Chat: new messages from the people in your Orbit.
  • Support: replies to the tickets you send from Help & Support.

Tap a notification to go straight to that match, conversation, or ticket.

What You Need​

DeviceRequirements
iPhone or iPadiOS or iPadOS 16.4 or later. Notifications only come to the home screen app, so installing is required.
Android phone or tabletChrome, Edge, Samsung Internet, or Firefox.
ComputerChrome or Edge to install. Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari can all show notifications.

iPhone and iPad​

1. Add Cosmix to Your Home Screen​

  1. Open Safari and go to app.cosmixapp.app.
  2. Tap the Share button, the square with an arrow pointing up. On iPhone it sits at the bottom of the screen; on iPad it is at the top right.
  3. Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen. If you do not see it, tap Edit Actions at the bottom of the list and add it.
  4. Tap Add.

Chrome and Edge on iPhone can do this too: tap their Share button and choose Add to Home Screen.

2. Sign In From the Home Screen App​

Open Cosmix from its new icon on your home screen. The home screen app keeps its own sign-in, separate from Safari, so sign in again here. If you are new to Cosmix, you can create your account right here instead.

3. Turn On Notifications​

Once your account is set up, Cosmix asks whether you would like notifications. Tap Turn on notifications, then tap Allow.

If you chose Not now, you can turn them on at any time:

  1. Tap the menu icon at the top of the screen.
  2. Tap Account, then Subscriptions & Credits.
  3. Under Notifications, tap Turn on notifications, then Allow.

Android​

1. Install Cosmix​

  1. Open Chrome and go to app.cosmixapp.app.
  2. Tap Install Cosmix if you see it on the page. Otherwise, tap the three dots menu at the top right and choose Install app (on some phones it reads Add to Home screen).
  3. Tap Install to confirm.

In Samsung Internet, tap the menu, then Add page to, then Home screen.

2. Turn On Notifications​

Open Cosmix from your home screen and sign in. When Cosmix asks, tap Turn on notifications, then Allow. You can also turn them on later from Account, then Subscriptions & Credits, under Notifications.

Computer​

1. Install Cosmix (Optional)​

Installing on a computer is optional; notifications work from a regular browser tab too.

  • Chrome or Edge: go to app.cosmixapp.app and click the install icon at the right end of the address bar, then click Install.
  • Safari on a Mac (macOS Sonoma or later): choose File, then Add to Dock.

2. Turn On Notifications​

Sign in, then click Turn on notifications when Cosmix asks, and click Allow. You can also find it under Account, then Subscriptions & Credits, in the Notifications section.

Your browser needs to be running for notifications to arrive on a computer.

Using More Than One Device​

Cosmix sends notifications to one device at a time: whichever one you opened Cosmix on most recently. If you use Cosmix on both your phone and your computer, open it on the device where you would like your notifications.

Signing out stops notifications on that device. Sign back in and they pick up again.

Troubleshooting​

I do not see Add to Home Screen on my iPhone. Make sure you are not in a Private Browsing tab, and check that your iPhone is on iOS 16.4 or later under Settings, General, About.

Cosmix never asked me about notifications on my iPhone. You are most likely still in Safari. Open Cosmix from your home screen icon and sign in there.

I tapped Don't Allow by mistake.

  • iPhone or iPad: open Settings, tap Notifications, tap Cosmix, and switch on Allow Notifications.
  • Android: press and hold the Cosmix icon, tap App info, then Notifications, and switch them on.
  • Computer: click the icon to the left of the web address, find Notifications, choose Allow, and reload the page.

Notifications stopped arriving. Check that Focus or Do Not Disturb is off. If you recently used Cosmix on another device, open it on this one again. You can confirm notifications are on under Account, then Subscriptions & Credits, where the Notifications section reads "Notifications are on for this device."
